Dine and dash

Some guy did a modified dine and dash at Subway earlier. He ordered his sandwich, then ran out before getting the veggies on it. XD He left the sandwich, just ran away.

I returned to Quidi Vidi lake and fed the birds. There are more than just ducks there, which is interesting. I got mobbed by pigeons. A woman asked to use a handful of seed to feed the goose, named Michael. I agreed, even offering a second handful should she need it and she did. I got brave enough because of that woman to feed Michael myself. Geese scoop the food up much like a dog would. Empath, once again, got Pidgie McSkittish (a pigeon) to eat from his hand. :)

The in-laws come home tonight. >:[

For the birds

Empath and I made a third trip to feed ducks this afternoon. We've been mobbed by ducks at the university pond the last two trips, enough so that certain ducks were cheekily nipping at our knees to be fed. This trip took us to Quidi Vidi lake. There is a ring of large, flat shale rocks around the edge of the water with a large path encircling it. We found some relatively clean slates and sat down. The shore about 3 feet below us became engulfed with ducks, pigeons, loons and sea gulls. There was a large grey goose that paddled over near the end. It's the first time I've seen a goose up close, so I was very impressed. Feeding the birds relaxed us after we had rough days - Empath at work and me on RuneScape.

10 days to my birthday!

TV season

This week has been the new seasons for tv shows. I mainly watch CBS since that's all my mom could get on her tv in Iowa. Friday is, again, a big night to be in front of the Boob Tube. Moon Light, a new series about a vampire PI, came across as having a noir feel due to the narration. Numb3rs, which Empath loves, was good, but was all the unshavenness to make Val Kilmer look good? TBH, Val's getting a bit tubby in the face and I think I saw the profile of a belly when he was injecting the triple agent (forgot his name).

Spooky thing today. I had laundry going, was washing dishes and playing Madonna's GH2 at 11. In the middle of this, I heard what sounded like Empath's brother call out to me. When you've got a bunch of background noise going as loud as I did, words were indistinguishable, but the general vocalization was that of someone trying to get my attention. I had a similar incident happen a few weeks ago when I was mowing the lawn.

Involved

I've been involved with this mouse issue, thus why no posts until now. We pretty well cleaned out a bunch of shit in our living room and bedroom, donated clothes to Salvation Army and would really like to take my 5 broken chairs to the dump without paying $50 to get through the gates. I haven't heard any micey noises for 2 days, which doesn't mean much but it's a start.

Oh and I apparently can't eat pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut or any kind of pest sauce because I get heartburn (I guess that's what it is) so bad I have to puke. The only saving grace is that it means I can drink more Mt. Dew as the carbonation makes me burp and relieves the pain in my stomach.

Laundry day again

More laundry today. I made a killer herb and garlic chicken that was delish!

Yummy pink crystals

A1 exterminator showed up on time. He checked out the house first, then laid some bait traps (plastic trays with pink crystals inside). The pink stuff is (supposed) very rodent attractive and will dehydrate them so they will look outside for water. I just can't wait to find a dead mouse on the floor when I have to pee at 4a. *rollseyes* We also got free sticky traps that smell like peanutbutter. Don't lick them! :P Next couple days or so, we've got to kick it to clean up better than normal.

Of Mice and Men

2 mice caught on a glue trap in the bedroom woke me up at 5 something this morning. I roused Empath to deal with them, which he did and went back to sleep. Sadly, I couldn't get to sleep again because of the radio morning show. Newfoundlanders talk fast and with the volume low, it was hard to hear what was said, especially when Stephanie O'Brien yakked as she's a Baymen and they talk 10X as fast as a regular Newfie.

Thursday, A1 Pest Control is coming to de-mouse the house.

I took a 2 hour nap at noon and felt tons better.
